The latest effort from Los Angeles-based Shabbat draws from the duo’s substantial archive of cassette recordings to create an ever-shifting tapestry of melody. From disintegrated dancefloor heaters (“Love Can Feel So Good”, “21 Source”) to the narcotized strains of “Harbor Lights”, the tape is a clear psychic link to 2019's 'Morning in America,’ but with a little more grit around the edges. Tracked over the course of 2019-2020, Shabbat's unique brand of homespun electronica delivers a garden of synthesized and organic elements, winding together the dying breaths of a Casio keyboard with howling guitar and circular percussion.
