Along my way came a figure
Shining with a strange glow...
The figure, then, went by my side,
And since then, I never walked alone!

The figure embraced and kissed me,
Such affection that a deity never knew...
With that kiss, I was rising
Way above mankind's noise!

It spoke to me of illusions and moonlights,
Of the joyous tribe that lives in the air...
- That clarity haunted me!

But through those false lights
I could finally see all the crosses
Heavily crushing Humanity!

Vinha passando pelo meu caminho
Um vulto estranhamente iluminado...
Para onde eu ia, o vulto ia a meu lado
E desde então, não andei mais sozinho!

Abraçou-me. beijou-me com um carinho
Que a um ser divino não seria dado...
E eu me elevava, sendo assim beijado
Muito acima do humano burburinho!

Falou-me de ilusões e de luares,
Da tribo alegre que povoa os ares...
- Assombrava-me aquela claridade!

Mas através daquelas falsas luzes
Pude rever enfim todas as cruzes
Que têm pesado sobre a Humanidade!
